i had problems with my refrigeratornot long after i purchased it. handle to freezer keeps coming off in my hand. the ice overflows into the drawer and piles up. a year after i got it water was getting in the crisper drawers and running out onto the floor. i had it repaired but a couple months later it was doing it again. now i dont even use those drawers. my refrigerator us 3 years old and i am looking to replace it. i will never buy another samsung appliance again.

I bought this appliance 10/16/2016. It did work fine for almost 2 yrs but just as the warranty ran out ice started to collect on the inside back panel. I had Sears come in to do a repair and after a new food evaporator cover and fan assembly were installed ... cost $603. Product worked for another 3 months. Sears was called again and they could do no more unless I wanted to spend more on parts so now every month I defrost it. I had just retired 1 yr ago and wanted to buy something that I could depend on.

I bought this unit for $1200 in Oct 2015. 3.5 years later - March 2019, I am having to spend $400 repairing it. The thermal fuse malfunctioned causing it to accumulate ice inside the walls of the unit. It had so much ice built up that the fan started hitting the ice making a horrible and super loud noise. Of course that is not covered by the guarantee and I just have to pay someone to repair it. Don't buy this unit, the repair man said this is a common problem with Samsung. Not a reliable brand for refrigerators.

This fridge is junk. After 3 months of owning it won't cool adequately. Lost over $300 in food. Samsung sent out a tech and the tech said nothing was wrong. No error codes. Samsung has yet to reimburse me for the lost food or contact me back to follow up. After you purchase it, you come to find out so many other people have the same issue.
I am going back to American made. I seem to have better results with their products.

I purchased this refridgerator second hand, it was like new. It is only a few years old. I should have done more research; this model is notorious for issues with ice build up and noise. I am about ready to replace it just a few months after purchase. Also, ice cream melts in the freezer even when it's set to below zero, so I suspect door seal issues. I highly recommend doing your research before purchasing this fridge. The issues with ice are not able to be fixed.

Please research this model before you consider buying. You'll find MANY unhappy customers describing how water pools under and inside the vegetable bins. For us, the problem appeared when the unit was a year and half old (and the warranty is only 1 year). When we finally found an appliance repair company that services Samsung refrigerators-most don't-we had service done at a cost of $416. The repair person has come out 2 more times, but the problem keeps reappearing. We've contacted Samsung requesting assistance, but they wouldn't even honor our request that they provide information on how to repair the defect.

This fridge disappointed because the shelf system does not have the rails on the back wall. The rail system offers more versatility than the molded plastic shelf supports on the side walls. The 21.5 cu.ft unit is better designed offering the rear wall rail and shelves that are not one piece, but can function as one by placement. Samsung should offer rail shelf systems on all units for greater flexibility and capacity.

Nice looking fridge, but smaller than expected on the inside. Shelves are only able to be moved up/down a couple of ways. Wish it was a couple inches wider. We expected some cons with it being counter width, so overall we're still happy.

Our house was built in the 50's so space in the kitchen is scarce. We had another manufacturer's 18 cubic ft. top-mount freezer/refrigerator for 20 years but the lower fan failed and was not cooling the refrigerator section. As we began researching and looking for a replacement, we kept coming back to the Samsung 17.5 cubic ft. french door, bottom freezer model. Ordered it and was able to get it through our older home's tight doorways (29") and fit it in the exact same spot as the failing refrigerator. We had never owned a bottom-freezer model before and I was apprehensive about it at first, but soon experienced it being easier to access ice cubes and frozen foods than I originally thought it would be. We couldn't be happier with the french-door design, which again, was a new and different refrigerator setup for us to become accustomed to. The unique way the doors seal must add to its energy efficiency features. The left door has a "flap" that pops out to the right as the door closes against the frame and then the right door closes and seals against the flap. Overall, great design, energy efficient, and fits perfectly in the space we have available for a refrigerator.

I brought this refrigerator for my wife online, and just about every large item like a gallon jug of milk or large orange juice will not fit inside the frig it has to go on the doors and that's limited to two gal jugs. i'm not a refrigerator designer but I don't think anybody gave any thought to what the average person puts inside a refrigerator. the self need to have more adjustable.

We have had the product for about one month and love it. It freezes items very quickly and the refrigerator layout is easy to navigate. We have not attached the ice maker, so I can't comment as to whether it works well. A friend had warned us that the exterior panels are very soft. And, indeed, when the model arrived, it had two dents. The dents were not located in places that were visible because of our kitchen layout and the distributor discounted us because of the dents. So, beware that the handles and panels are somewhat fragile. Otherwise, this is a great purchase for us.

This is and amazing unit it has all the quality designs for storage and very spacious. This Samsung refrigerator has an interior design which allows for an incredible amount of storage in a compact space. I had been used to a much larger unit and it was quite amazing to see all of my cold groceries being placed in the Samsung - and fitting there! The inside display lights are bright so you will never have an item out of sight, which might spoil. When the doors are open for too long a time there is a built-in speaker to alert you. It is a great looking product on the outside also, very modern and sleek.
The bottom freezer makes ice in an easy to reach location and there is a good deal of space for frozen foods.This refrigerator is built to be long-lasting but is not overly heavy.
All things considered, this Samsung, in addition to being of great quality and a terrific buy, price wise, is as good as it gets.

My wife loves her new refrigerator. Our old refrigerator of 20 years had been breaking down little by little. Now that the kids are all grown up we didn't need such a large refrigerator. This 18 cu ft. refrigerator has all the features my wife was looking for. It's counter depth, it has all the shelves she needs and it's very quiet. No more frozen eggs and hard frozen lettuce for us. We recommend this refrigerator to anyone.

We are happy with the design of the refrigerator, even though we paid slightly more for the counter depth size, it fits the space nicely in our small kitchen. We transitioned from a larger size refrigerator that overpowered the kitchen, however there are just the two of us so I think this appliance provides ample space.

Purchased this model because our kitchen space is small. This model is only 18 cu.ft of space, but if fits into our small kitchen and is countertop depth. Perfect fit. Inside it is well lit with adjustable height shelves inside and along the right hand door. Only complaint was I wish the very top shelf in the fridge could be moved down to another slot not so close to the veggie drawers to accommodate higher profile food containers without laying them on their side. But - a small price to pay for a very well designed refrigerator - and we love the freezer at the bottom with the sliding shelf.

Although we just got his refrigerator, there are a number of positives to report. FIRST: be aware that most of the older reviews are for the predecessor 17.5 cu ft design and most of the complaints have been resolved. The door now takes gallon jugs. The "slip back" shelf is gone, and the deli drawer slides side to side. The freezer is now significantly larger with a much more attractive sliding drawer that sports a clear front insert panel. SECOND: even buying from Lowes, this is a special order item that will take about two weeks to arrive. So it goes with "counter-depth" refrigerators, I guess. And, it was worth the wait. Anything deeper would have required removing the item's doors to get it through both our front & kitchen doors. Wouldn't that have been a project, and one just asking for re-assembly problems if you don't get a really experienced delivery crew. When did refrigerators all become so preposterously big!! Anyway, it is certainly nice to report that Samsung did not skimp in any way that I can find on this "under-sized" refrigerator. Last observation is that our unit had a pretty noisy droning start up, but once normal operating temps were reached, it became nicely quiet at all times.

Love the led lights and the way it's flushed with the top instead of hanging down and taking space plus the controls are right there for you to easily access but not low enough for kids to play with.
